Perhaps you work “Shifts?” No problem, I also can be available in the Daytime, so no excuses! Lessons take place fortnightly and last for one hour. ( However, there is no Government Health Warning about weekly lessons)...Yet!?

however, the good news is that Iain Donald has taken over the his Mantle and is Teaching in Alloa at LOOP Studios.

School Curriculum

If you’re at school and want to play drums at Standard, Higher Grades and Advanced Higher, Cymbal Simon can help you out as he can teach the Scottish Examination Board Syllabus......if you’re willing to learn it! For 2012, the Rock School Curriculum is also available however, Students must Purchase their own Rock School Books.

What does a Lesson  encompass?         

I try to make my Lessons as fun as possible but there is also quite a bit of work involved! If you learn the Piano, you have to learn scales and the equivalent for Drummers, are called Rudiments.......Introducing the “Flam-Paradiddle-Diddle,” the “IThe Ratamacue,” The Five Stroke Roll,” amongst others! No.... they are not “Dance Moves,” although they should be!!

So, I try to split the Lesson between Theory, Reading Music but I also Teach you how to play Songs. It’s not all hard work but the more you put in, the more you get out.....and other such Cliches!
