Lil’ Jimmy Reed from Enterprise Alabama
Cymbal Simon says: A few years ago, I got a call asking me to Dep for a Drummer. “Where and when?” I asked. “ A Tour of Scotland and Sweden for a Bluesman called “Lil’ Jimmy Reed.”...”Different,” I thought!
So we played at the Dundee Blues Bonanza and a few good Theatres around Scotland and then flew off to Amal (Sorry no Dots) to play at a huge Festival called Amal Bluesfest and played various other great Gigs around Sweden.
I have been lucky to play with some great Players in my life but if you are going to play Blues, then Lil’ Jimmy Reed is the man to play them with.
He’s no pretender! He’s from the Deep South, has seven kids, was a Sergeant in the US Army, so knows what it’s like to struggle. Despite all his trials and tribulations, he remains a true Gent and was one of the nicest guys I have ever worked for.
He has become a Star in Sweden, not only for his great Voice and Guitar playing but for the time he spends with his adoring Public.....Great Man!
